Gospel Principles 18: Faith in Jesus Christ
I envy the teacher who is assigned this lesson. Three principles are at the heart of Christianity: Faith, Hope, and Charity . . . and Jesus is at the center of all three. Anytime a lesson focuses on the Savior (and somehow, all lessons should), you open the space for healing in the classroom. When I teach Relief Society, I assume there is at least one sister in the room who has come to class urgently, silently seeking some peace, some balm. If I keep that in mind, it helps me find the right tone.

This is the outline that I would follow if I were teaching the lesson.
I have a personal theory that every lesson is, at root, about at least one member of the Godhead. Some focus more on Christ, some focus more on Heavenly Father, and some focus more on the Holy Ghost. By my interpretation the star of this lesson is the Holy Ghost. Right out of the gate the manual points out that

When I've taught this lesson in the past, I usually do most of it straight---basically following the outline of the manual. Since I came from an all-girl family, I personally found most of the specific information about the roles and duties of each priesthood office to be rather eye-opening. I had never been taught that information very explicitly up until the time that I taught this lesson---which probably speaks a little bit to the gendered nature of instruction in the church....

Gospel Principles 10: Scriptures
As I prepared this lesson, I feel like the first few sections will be pretty quick discussions unless you have a ward full of brand-spankin’ new converts who didn’t get taught about the four books of scripture during their missionary discussions. Or maybe I’d just skip over them because I think it’s all kinds of fun to talk exegesis, i.e. biblical interpretation. My thoughts are in italics, more official sources are presented in regular font.
I’d start this lesson with the hymn, “As I Search the Holy Scriptures” on pg 277—this alone could teach the lesson.

Exponent II provides Mormon feminist forums for women and gender minorities across the Mormon spectrum to share their diverse life experiences in an atmosphere of trust and acceptance. Through these exchanges, we strive to create a community to better understand and support each other.
Exponent II was founded in 1974 by a group of Mormon women in Cambridge, Massachusetts. These women were inspired by the original periodical, “The Woman’s Exponent,” to create a forum “posed on the dual platforms of Mormonism and Feminism.”
For 50+ years, Exponent II has shared women’s voices in its quarterly magazine, and members of the community have convened at an annual retreat.
