Published quarterly, Exponent II includes theology, personal narrative, fiction, poetry, contemporary art and book reviews — all by Mormon women and gender minorities. Print subscriptions (our most popular and recommended option) continue a 50-year tradition and include a free digital subscription.

Exponent II has published the multitudes of feminist experiences since 1974 — making Exponent II the longest-running Mormon feminist platform. We excel in facilitating nuanced conversations by prioritizing community over ideological purity and providing opportunities to listen deeply to one another. Learn more about our origins here.

A single print issue is typically 48 pages. We are extremely proud of the art — all by women and gender minorities along the Mormon spectrum — that works in conversation with the essays. The articles are carefully gathered and arranged to create a narrative from beginning to end. This results in a dialogue within every issue as articles speak to one another and spark new ideas and meanings. We use a high-quality, no-waste small business printer to deliver premium quality. What does the magazine experience have to offer that’s worth the cost of a subscription? See for yourself by previewing the magazine here.

Not all content in Exponent II, or even the majority is directly religious. Past themes include holy places, the art of loss, friendship and environmentalism.

Subscriptions go toward paying editors and contributors, community funds, and sustaining the ongoing efforts of Exponent II.
