Lately I’ve been meditating about belonging to the tribe of humanity: sisters and brothers, all traveling in a foreign land, all a little lonely for home and for each other. This song reminds me that together we are the voice of God. And that feels a little like home.
The Wailin’ Jennys singing One Voice
This is the sound of one voice
One spirit, one voice
The sound of one who makes a choice
This is the sound of one voice
This is the sound of voices two
The sound of me singing with you
Helping each other to make it through
This is the sound of voices two
This is the sound of voices three
Singing together in harmony
Surrendering to the mystery
This is the sound of voices three
This is the sound of all of us
Singing with love and the will to trust
Leave the rest behind it’ll turn to dust
This is the sound of all of us
This is the sound of one voice
One people, one voice
A song for every one of us
This is the sound of one voice

I love this! I’ve never heard this band or this song before — awesome. I really like melodic, folk type singing. Thanks so much for posting about it Melody!
And thanks for listening. I think sacred music can be found in so many genres. . . this one was a delightful discovery. Glad you like it!
I love the Walin’ Jennys. Thanks for sharing this great song.
“All a little lonely for home and for each other.” Yeah. Music and poetry and stories are ways we try to fill that loneliness.
Exactly, Em. Thanks for noting that.
