The Second Dose and Survivor’s Guilt

I have severe asthma and since the pandemic started I've been playing a game of "beat the clock" with coronavirus. Since no one knows how the virus will affect each individual, I have been terrified that my asthmatic ridden lungs wouldn't be able to handle it. I've been hospitalized for pneumonia before and had walking pneumonia just 5 years ago. Knowing how much my lungs suck at being lungs (thanks John Green for coining that phrase in "Fault in our Stars") I've been playing a game to see if I could get the vaccine before the virus got me.  I'm...

True Love Requires Action

I had a relatively lighthearted post planned but after to waking to today's news that over 50 people were murdered last night in the worse mass shooting in American history, it felt more appropriate to do something else. Additionally, there is a massive humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico and the United States government is failing our sisters and brothers. Safety pins and allyship

Like many around me and many people I know, I cried when I woke up on November 10. I had truly not anticipated the results of the US election and had blindly, optimistically, believed that there was no way such a terrifying human being could be handed so much power. How wrong I was. How wrong so many of us were. I cried, not because I lost. Frankly, I lost twice in this election cycle, as I had voted for Senator Sanders in the primaries, and then for Secretary Clinton in the election. No, I didn't cry on my big...
What is Exponent II?

Exponent II provides Mormon feminist forums for women and gender minorities across the Mormon spectrum to share their diverse life experiences in an atmosphere of trust and acceptance. Through these exchanges, we strive to create a community to better understand and support each other.

Exponent II was founded in 1974 by a group of Mormon women in Cambridge, Massachusetts. These women were inspired by the original periodical, “The Woman’s Exponent,” to create a forum “posed on the dual platforms of Mormonism and Feminism.”

For 50+ years, Exponent II has shared women’s voices in its quarterly magazine, and members of the community have convened at an annual retreat. Our reach has expanded as technology has advanced: the blog, founded in January 2006, has reached millions. As we look to the future, we are focused on growth and building a more inclusive community.
