Sacred (Romantic) Music Sunday

Come to the House of the LordHappy Valentine’s Day! Since this Sacred Music Sunday post falls on Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be fun to post some romantic sacred music.  Yes, there is such a thing.  I immediately thought of a duet I heard at a fireside I attended when I was in college.  The song was called Neither the Man Without the Woman by Steven Kapp Perry.  The musical number was memorable to me not only because the song was lovely, but also because the two people who sang it at the fireside seemed to be trying their hardest to convey the message “We’re not really a couple,” with their body language. I've often said that the only calling in the church I would turn down is Primary chorister. Getting up and entertaining children for an extended period of time is so far outside my skill set and comfort zone that it would be miserable to me, even though I like music and I like children. This summer I've had the opportunity to put that to the test by being the go-to substitute for the Primary chorister.
