(A Belated) Welcome to AmyB

We’re happy to announce that AmyB, who has been a loyal commenter on the Exponent II Blog for months, has agreed to become a permanent contributor. Her first post, Hidden Treasures in a Bookstore, sparked some great conversation a few weeks ago. We’ll all be looking forward to her bi-monthly posts. Welcome Amy!

Here’s a little about AmyB:
Amy grew up in Utah Valley but now lives with her husband in New York City. She recently finished her Master’s degree in Music Therapy at NYU and works with emotionally disturbed children, which she finds sometimes heartbreaking and always fulfilling. She reads voraciously and is fascinated with human development. On matters of being Mormon, she is deeply struggling, but has great hope that whatever happens life will be beautiful.

  1. In addition to all that, don’t forget that AmyB plays a mean hand of poker, is the owner of a really fun collection of unusual musical instruments, and is about a thousand times more energetic and graceful a dancer than I’ll ever be.

My wife and I have been AmyB (and Mr. Amy) fans for some time now — good recruiting work, X2. And congratulations, Amy!

  2. I will definetly be looking forward to her posts. She always has good ideas and thoughts. I look forward to reading them. My kids still talk about her unusually instrument collection. She is aslo an awesome piano teacher, Sullivan says she was her favorite. Now if I could just get him to practice. And yes my husband danced with her and amazingly still dances with me and my two left feet.

  3. AmyB, I’m glad to see ExII adopted you–a sign of good taste on both sides. I always enjoy reading your observations, and I look forward to reading more of them.

  4. Nice to see that you’ve found a blog home, Amy! And such a lovely home it is, too. Beauty all around. Birds singing softly in the trees. Sweet spirits everywhere. And maybe I’d better end this comment before someone chokes me with bubble wrap . . .

Seriously, it’s great to see you as a permablogger here.

  5. Lynette:

Just your luck that I’m all out of the bubbly stuff.

We are thrilled to have Amy on-board — and to have the East coast better represtented.

  6. I’m blushing. . . Thanks for the warm welcomes and compliments. I love the community here and am thrilled to be a part of it.

I’m sure that anonymous comment is some type of spam, but it would be nice to think that my blogging could make someone feel better than they have in years. 🙂

  7. It’s good to see you as a permablogger here. I’ve loved all your comments at our site (keep coming to visit us!) 🙂
