Sing the pants song! Paid maternity and pantsuits for LDS church employees!

The Deseret News is reporting Pants for women, parental leave for all LDS Church employees.

In celebration of this landmark, I am reposting the Put on Your Pants uke song from Wear Pants to Church Day.

  1. Wow, the church is finally providing the benefit that most of corporate America has been providing for decades! The brethren must have finally talked to the big man and he told them that families are really important, and having time to bond with a newborn is important. But did you notice that there is a shorter leave for adoption? It seems like the same thing, but maybe not.

My wife commented that she would never have worked for the church with the pantyhose requirement (remember it was only about a year ago that they stopped requiring women to wear dresses with pantyhose), nor, for that matter, where she couldn’t wear pants, like the rest of corporate America.

As for me, I know that our heavenly trinity wants their rank and file to always wear suit coats. Allowing the church-men to wear shirts with a little color and not having to wear jackets went a little bit far for me 🙂
