Thank you for your patience! I was in charge of this lesson, and I fear time got away from me. Below I have listed links to other lessons we’ve done here at The Exponent in the past. The structure of the last two is very similar to the organization of this week’s lesson.

May Young Women Lesson: Why is it Important to Study the Scriptures: Kathy did a lovely Young Women’s version of this lesson last month. Some great feminist quotes by Emmeline B. Wells and an Ensign article called, “The Savior’s Respect for Women.”

Relief Society Lesson for Spencer W Kimball: Discovering the Scriptures for Ourselves: This guest post starts with a fun quiz and has some great questions to ask the class as well as some nice short vignettes about scripture study.

Relief Society Lesson for Ezra Taft Benson: The Power of the Word of God: While Rachel uses both spoken and written Word of God examples, this lesson has so many lovely scriptures and stories of why those scriptures are important to the author.

These next two lessons, I wrote years ago. The material and structure is very similar to the lesson referenced above.

Relief Society Lesson: Scriptures: I wrote this lesson, and I can’t tell what manual it came from. This is a largely class-led discussion where people are invited to share their favorite parts of the scriptures and compare techniques to keep their scripture study applicable and worthwhile.

Relief Society Lesson for George Albert Smith: The Scriptures, the Most Valuable Library in the World: I wrote this lesson, too. It has some great links to examples of deep scripture study.

I echo President Hunter’s words from this lesson, “I am grateful for the library of scripture through which a greater knowledge of Jesus Christ can be learned by devoted study. I am grateful that in addition to the Old and New Testaments, the Lord, through prophets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has added other revealed scripture as additional witnesses for Christ—the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price—all of which I know to be the word of God. These bear witness that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Since I didn’t have much time, please share and help others who are looking to prepare this lesson in the comment section. (Thank you!)
