Announcement: Counterpoint Conference in Salt Lake City, October 8, 2011

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 8, at the University of Utah! (Flyer coming soon when other panelists are confirmed.)

The Counterpoint Conference is hosted by Mormon Women’s Forum each fall. This year, Elouise Bell is the keynote speaker. She was a professor of English at BYU for many years and an out-spoken feminist. If you have never heard her speak, don’t pass up this opportunity. She is funny, provocative, and rarely does public speaking anymore.

Theme: “How We Have Changed. How We Must Change. Men and Women in Dialogue about Mormon Feminism.”

Where have we been as Mormon feminists?  Where do we still need to go?  How can we strive for change?  How can we get men interested in feminist issues? Is this crucial for change to happen in the Church?

  1. I’m excited to get to go for the first time too AND I get to be a panelist! Margaret Toscano asked my husband and me to be on the Partners or Rivals panel. SO excited and more than a little nervous too.
