Choice. Agency. Decisions. These words hold power in our collective culture, and yet, they can be difficult to navigate in practice. We want to hear about your experience making a hard decision at a critical juncture in your life.
Have you ever had to make an “Eve choice,” choosing between knowledge and comfort, or perhaps between two good things? When have you taken the lead or made a risky choice without asking for permission? What followed? On the other hand, have you ever made a choice you regretted or didn’t want to make, then had to make peace with it in other ways? Was there a time when you made a decision that surprised you, or one you had to make quickly without knowing it would have such a large impact on your life? Tell us about your choice and what the process ultimately taught you.
Submissions should conform to the mission of Exponent II. They should be up to 2,400 words (with 1,200 words being the sweet spot) and follow our submission guidelines. The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2022.
